這裡是英國版的「星光大道」電視節目(Britain’s Got Talent / 英國達人)。
這個節目除了各種讓人瞠目結舌的「才藝表演」之外；
最讓人印象深刻的應該是三位毒舌評審 Piers Morgan、Amanda Holden、Simon Cowell
他們總是不吝嗇的、在你最不需要的時候，送給你一個大大的嘲諷！
大約一年多前 (2007年6月9日)，名不見經傳的手機業務員 Paul Potts 在這個舞台上，唱出濃縮版本的詠嘆調普契尼的「公主徹夜未眠」時，震撼全場，現場二千名觀眾站立鼓掌，保羅。波茨也因而舉世聞名！
這次英國版的「星光大道」電視節目又出現了一個驚喜 -- Susan Boyle。
Susan Boyle -- 這位 47 歲毫不起眼的、目前和她十歲大的貓，同住在蘇格蘭的鄉下小鎮，自稱從沒結過婚，也從未接過吻的的肥胖歐巴桑大嬸，當她步出舞台的時候沒有人會想要理會她。
在她開始表演之前，按慣例的也在後台接受訪問，當她以堅定的語氣說出：「我一定要讓這些觀眾們為我瘋狂」的時候，頂多讓人認為，她也不過是眾多認真的參賽者其中之ㄧ罷了。
主持人 Simon Cowell 問她年紀多大了？她回答 47 歲後，還手叉腰不停地扭擺著她的大肥臀。
她的夢想是當一個職業歌唱家，當 Simon 再問她想以誰為目標時，她回答 Elaine Paige (英國舞台劇界知名女歌唱家)，立刻引來全場觀眾的嘲笑聲與白眼。
而當她說要演唱舞台劇「孤星淚」的「I Dreamed a Dream」，主持及觀眾們又投報以難堪、鄙視的眼神...
但是...但是發生了什麼奇妙的事？？？
那是一段很奇妙的過程！
她才剛唱出第一句，全場就聽到目瞪口呆，繼而爆以熱烈掌聲，瘋狂呼喊的尖叫聲此起彼落！
主持人也由冷淡變為難以置信的驚嘆，和剛開始時的態度完全不同。
當她的高音拉拔唱到「And they turn your dream to shame」這一句的時後 ，全場觀眾紛紛起立致敬，一直到她唱完全場都全神貫注地注視著她。
評審之ㄧ的 Amanda 也忍不住站了起來大聲地拍掌叫好
最後、三位主持人對她的評價如下：
Piers Morgan：
Without a doubt that was the biggest surprise I have had in three years of the show……that was stunning, an incredible performance

Amanda Holden：

Simon Cowell：
I knew the minute you walked out on that stage that we are going to hear something extraordinary, and I was right. You are a little tiger.

Susan Boyle 來自蘇格蘭西部農村，目前無業，在教會當義工。
Susan Boyle 出生時因缺氧導致腦部受損，因此產生學習障礙，加上其貌不揚，從小常遭同學欺負與嘲弄。多年前母親生病，歌星夢更無可能實現，只有全心照顧母親。參加選秀節目是母親過世兩年來首次獻唱，也總算滿足母親的遺願。
